Dance Residency at Thimblemill Library
Thimblemill Library was proud to welcome Seven Circles for a week-long residency exploring ideas for their new show ‘Club Ninja’. They held two free workshops for children aged 3-7 and their families, inviting them to play, dance and explore with them. The residency was a part of the Rural Touring Dance Initiative.
Calling all Actors!
We are looking for actors and actor-musicians with strong devising skills to be part of an ensemble cast for ‘Wild’, a new production coming in Autumn 2024.

We’re looking for a community focused, capable and enthusiastic Community Programme Coordinator to join us at Black Country Touring, to lead on the delivery of our Community Cinema Programme.
Where Are You? Schools Tour
‘Where Are You?’ is our hybrid theatre production for families, featuring a mix of live performance, pre-recorded performance and animation. In November and December 2023, we toured “Where Are You?” to 5 schools across all 4 boroughs of the Black Country. Each school in the UK was paired with a school in Accra, Ghana, with the performances taking place simultaneously at both locations.
Rowley Regis Community Cinema
Promoters Showcase
We hosted our first ever Promoters Showcase last Thursday!
22 community promoters joined us to see extracts of performances that we are excited about, and that they might like to book at their venues.
They also had a chance to meet each other and network over some samosas and biscuits!
Postcode Culture Trust Funding
We're delighted to announce that Black Country Touring has secured a second grant of £75,000 from Postcode Culture Trust, thanks to players of People's Postcode Lottery. This initial year of funding has truly transformed our organisation, and we're eager to reveal some of the exciting developments ahead that this funding will enable. Get ready for a year filled with creativity, connection, and community spirit!
Our Hectic Half Term!
Our second round of Rekindle library events took place over October half term, and we were overjoyed at how successful they were. With over 12 events taking place over 7 days, it was a hectic week for the Black Country Touring team and our community promoters!
BCT’s 25th Birthday 🥳
Last month we celebrated our 25th birthday at one of our most beloved community venues, Thimblemill Library, alongside friends of BCT and members of the local community. Thank you to everyone who came and celebrated with us, to Thimblemill Library for hosting us, to Dreadlockalien and Kurly whose poems had the had the crowd in stitches, and to Little Bulb Theatre for their wonderful performance that had audience members leaving their seats and singing and dancing along!
