BCT’s 25th Birthday 🥳
Last month we celebrated our 25th birthday at one of our most beloved community venues, Thimblemill Library, alongside friends of BCT and members of the local community.
The evening began with a drinks reception, which was followed by a hilarious introduction with personalised poems by Dreadlockalien and Kurly. The highlight of the evening was a fantastic performance of Mountain Music by Little Bulb Theatre, which included a spontaneous line dance by some members of the audience! There was a tombola with BCT-related prizes, an archive corner with memories of BCT for people to look through, and plenty of cake, of course!
Like most BCT supported events, our birthday show was a “pay what you can” event, where audience members choose how much to pay for their tickets. This allows people to experience high-quality theatre without cost being a barrier. If you don’t feel able to pay, the performance is free. If you choose to give more, you’re allowing others to attend for less, and you’re supporting us to put on more events and reach new audiences.
BCT’s mission is to ensure everyone in the Black Country can access thrilling, diverse and high-quality theatre on their doorstep, regardless of their background, age or income. If you believe in our mission and would like to support us, please consider donating to our Pay It Forward campaign. Pay It Forward donations enable you to share the joy of the arts with those facing difficult times by buying a ticket for someone in the community who faces financial hardship. Every contribution, no matter the size, can brighten someone's day.
A huge thank you to everyone who came and celebrated with us, to Thimblemill Library for hosting us, to Dreadlockalien and Kurly whose poems had the had the crowd in stitches, and to Little Bulb Theatre for their wonderful performance that had audience members leaving their seats and singing and dancing along!
