Dance Residency at Thimblemill Library

Thimblemill Library was proud to welcome Seven Circles for a week-long residency exploring ideas for their new show ‘Club Ninja’ during the last week of May.

Seven Circles is an artists’ collective that collaborates with children and their families to create and present dance performances for young audiences. During their residency, they held two free workshops for children aged 3-7 and their families, inviting them to play, dance and explore with them. At the end of the week, they held a free sharing of their work in progress for the participants of the workshops.

The residency was a part of the Rural Touring Dance Initiative (RTDI), a national project that supports dance artists and promoters to put on great dance performance events across the country. Their Associate Venue programme sees the RTDI partners collaborate with venues to support their dance programming, to present bold and diverse dance work, and to develop new audiences for dance across the UK. Thimblemill Library is proud to be one of nine RTDI associate venues.

We’re excited to see what Seven Circles comes up with for their new show, and we’re looking forward to facilitating more RTDI events in the future!
