Blathering With SVI Podcast

We all encounter the world in different ways. A mundane topic can seem entirely different depending on who, or how, it is approached…

Blathering With SVI is a fascinating new podcast exploring the everyday experiences of visually impaired people, with all the triumphs and pitfalls, all in their own words.

Over several months, members of Sandwell Visually Impaired (a user-led organisation who provide a range of services for the visually impaired community of Sandwell) took part in conversations with Graeme Rose about some everyday subjects.

How does who they are alter their approach to colour, dreams and water? Does losing your sight alter your relationship with them? What’s it like if you have never had any vision?

The results of those conversations are these fascinating podcasts. Each episode is accompanied by a rich auditory world created by Think/Write/Fly.

Episode 1: Blathering about Water

Members of SVI talk about their relationship with water, their memories and their experiences.

Episode 2: Blathering about Dreams

Ray was once asked, “Do blind people dream?” Well, here is the answer.

Episode 3: Blathering about Colour

How does your relationship with colour change if you start to lose your sight? How do you feel about colour if you’ve never seen?
