Weaving Paths Through Time (2007)
Dance at Bantock House inspired by the house, décor, objects and gardens.
The Sonia Sabri Company was resident at Bantock House for three-weeks, during the creation of Weaving Paths, using the house and gardens as inspiration for short new works.
The company responded to Bantock’s Edwardian interiors and furnishings, using movement and sound, creating original new dance and music pieces.
Throughout the process local community groups, including belly dancers and a group of students from Wolverhampton University, collaborated with the professional artists creating their own innovative and evocative responses.
“I was amazed how it all turned out… and very beautifully presented. The stories were great…and I loved the bit at the start with the pieces of paper.”
“It was good to see a real mixture of people in the audience as well. The buzz all round was very positive.”
This was a project partnership between Sonia Sabri Company, Black Country Touring and Wolverhampton Arts and Museums Services.
