The Football Aficionado

Zahra, a 27-year-old Iranian football enthusiast, is an ardent supporter of Persepolis, one of the biggest football teams in Tehran. However, as per an unwritten law in Iran, women are banned from attending football games in stadiums. Despite this gender-based discrimination, Zahra decides to challenge the status quo by disguising herself as a man to watch live matches. Unexpectedly, her actions become a catalyst for a nationwide movement against gender inequality, as Zahra's story goes viral on social media, attracting attention from the press and empowering other young women to speak out. This documentary follows Zahra's journey as she becomes a symbol of defiance against oppressive cultural norms, offering an intimate glimpse into the challenges faced by Iranian women and their ongoing struggle for equal rights.
